FAQ

Common Questions

How do I register?

Registration is handled on the NRL Hunter website. Member registration opens March 7, 2027, and public registration opens March 9, 2027.

Do I need to be an NRL Hunter member?

No. Members get early access on March 7, and registration opens to everyone on March 9.

What gear should I bring?

Bring what you'd carry on a hunt. NRL Hunter recommends:

  • Your rifle, with a sling
  • A backpack and shooting bag
  • Binoculars and/or a spotting scope
  • A rangefinder
  • Clothing suited to the location (for Honey Creek in June, plan on heat, humidity, tall grass and wet ground)

Rifle rules to know: Your load must meet NRL Hunter's minimum power factor of 380,000 (bullet weight in grains × velocity in fps). For example, a 140 gr bullet at 2,800 fps comes to 392,000. Each division also has a rifle weight limit that counts everything mounted to the rifle (scope, bipod and other attachments), except the magazine and ammunition. You don't need a custom rifle; the Factory division is built for off-the-shelf rifles.

We also recommend eye and ear protection. For the complete equipment rules, see the NRL Hunter rules and FAQ.

Where do I stay?
